The organizing committee for the Northwest Georgia (NWGA) Section held its first in-person meeting in December 2019. The group was focused on securing at least 35 members and completing all requirements for chartering a section that serves Douglas, Carroll and Paulding counties. The initial interest meeting was held on March 10, 2020.

After much hard work and dedication, the NWGA Section was chartered on September 10, 2020, with 183 charter members!

The NWGA Section is focused on:

  • Establishing the Section in the community
  • Conducting environmental scans to determine community needs
  • Developing partnerships and an agenda to improve the quality of life for African American women and their families by:
      • Meeting the emergency needs of our neighbors caused by COVID, social injustice, and systemic racism
      • Contributing to our members’ personal and professional development
      • Creating impactful Four for the Future and Community Outreach programs
